Across the Way Stables LLC # 1831860, is conveniently located in the midst of
Barrow County’s Equestrian Community. We are an adult rider / training
facility specializing in the care and retraining of off track
Thoroughbreds
Our horses are fed twice a day on a forage first philosophy... That is,
majority diet consists of forage and quality grass hay with feed and supplements
used to fill in nutritional requirements of the individual 's discipline
and workload. Feed is based on both a percentage of body weight
and body condition scoring. In addition, Feed is weighted to insure each horse is getting the proper
and consistent ration for their needs.
Our farrier, Scott Davis, is scheduled to visit the barn every six weeks.
All horses are put on a schedule to be trimmed and/or shod based on the
horse's discipline and work load. The schedule is adjusted every
time the farrier comes to catch any changes in an individual's hoof condition
and/or expected workload.
Stalls are cleaned using the Brockwood Farms Stall Shifter. The Stall Shifter shifts out all particles larger than a peanut. This
wonderful device not only saves on shavings, but also gets the stalls incredibly
clean.
Horses are turned out (weather permitting) from 8:00 to 4:00 daily during
the winter months and from 8:00 to 7:00 during the summer. As the days
get longer (or shorter) the time frame horses are bought up changes.
We enjoy the company of our horses. We care for all as though they are
own...This is our philosophy
Stop by for a visit... kick up your heels and stay a while..
